"Friday night was a great success – thank you to you and the staff present. I can honestly say this is one of the easiest events I’ve ever organised. Nothing was any trouble – everything was just done exactly how we wanted it to be. The room was set up perfectly with minimal input from us and function staff were very professional and made the night run so smoothly. I always get to our events early as there are invariably problems at the last minute, furniture to be moved, set up issues or timings to be altered. Not this time. I got the venue early on Friday and there was absolutely nothing to be done – everything was perfect. I sat in a chair for 30 minutes! In the past an area that causes complication on the night is the bar tab. Not this time. The room layout is just made for social occasions being open and the bar is a the centre of the fun, not tucked away from the hub of activity like some venues. The team were a pleasure to deal and made the organisation of the night so easy for us, I am usually a stresser but they gave me absolutely no need to stress. The staff on the night were a pleasure as well, interacting with us and our guests, it was a charming quality that they cared so much and that if felt more than a job to them. We really loved the freedom of the food and drink options and the food was delicious. On the night, it was served at regular intervals and we never felt like we were looking for, the timing was perfect all night. “A 5+ Star Venue - great location, great staff, great food. We held our daughter’s 21st birthday party at The Metropolitan and cannot thank the staff enough for their attention and service, especially Jessica who assisted us all along the way. The Level 1 function room was perfect, it was private, the finger food we chose was delicious, the service was impeccable. The staff on the night, ably led by Jusmine, were professional, polite, friendly and went out of their way to ensure our guests were looked after. This was one of the only venues that allowed us to come in earlier in the day to put up decorations, hire a Pool Table from an external company and they even allowed us to provide some nibbles for when guests arrived. They were extremely flexible and helpful in this area. The venue location is very handy to public transport and parking facilities. We have received many positive comments from our guests and they have all said the same thing – ‘great venue choice’. "I was fortunate enough to have my 40th birthday at the Metropolitan Hotel in late October this year. Before the event, I had no affiliation with the venue and must acknowledge that I had only heard about it after doing a Google search. However, after doing some research, it was the only place in Melbourne and its surrounding area that met what I was after. It was a venue big enough to cater for up to 200 people (I had 180 attend) and it was open well past midnight and had a dance floor! It was also reasonably priced, compared to many other places I looked at. From the moment I spoke with function manager Jessica on the phone and then met her in person later that day – the whole process couldn’t have been better. I didn’t have one issue or concern and the 40th was a great success! Everyone I spoke to following the event had an absolute ball and couldn’t speak highly enough of the night, including the venue, food and staff! The other staff members I dealt with were great – from Melanie on the day to Jussie, who was managing my 40th, at night. My guests all commented on their friendly service and help – and what a great venue it was. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked or wished for a better birthday. The function room was perfect! It had a great feel to it and catered for a range of people and ages. I had everyone from an eight-month old to 80-year-old there. It wasn’t pretentious and had a genuine, down-to-earth feel to it. Nothing is too hard for the staff, drinks are at very reasonable prices and their selection of gourmet food, wood oven pizza’s and a la carte menu is suitable to any palette. All dietary requirements are handled with the best of care and with extreme caution.
We have held our events and onsite catering with The Metropolitan hotel for many years and we continue to do so, they always change their selection of food so we don’t feel like we are always eating the same things! Well done Metropolitan!"
